Kristy Juliano began her role as conductor and music director of the Solano Choral Society in the fall 2011 season. Her goal has been to infuse SCS with her energy and enthusiasm while continuing to uphold the fine standards of excellence achieved over the preceding 35 years.

Kristy began teaching voice and piano, conducting vocal ensembles, directing musicals and singing professionally over 35 years ago.  After her children were in school, she decided to supplement their music education with her presence in the classroom.  She had brief teaching stints at St. Vincent Elementary, Napa Valley College, Solano Community College, St. Helena HS and North Hills, but her 12 years at St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School and her appointment as full-time music instructor at Solano Community College provided the foundation for an established career in Music Education.

At SCC, Kristy teaches a full load of voice and choral classes including Beginning-Advanced Voice, Jazz & Pop Voice, Collegiate Chorale (a combination of Choir/Chorus open to all students), Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Choir (an audition-only choir for advanced choral musicians), ATP Voice (the vocal element of the Actors Training Program) in addition to teaching Music Fundamentals. Kristy is excited to bring her experience as a producer (Vallejo and Benicia Jazz Festivals), director (Messiah Sing-Along, Vallejo Symphony Chorus, Vocal Expression and musical theater and community productions), private teacher and professional performer to her position as director of the Solano Choral Society.

In addition to music, her most special interests are her grandson and granddaughter, her two children, her husband, home, yoga, gardening, walking/hiking, time with good friends and the enjoying the beauty of the Earth.
